Telephony Middleware

Whirlwind provides your target application with resources such as call switching, play, record, fax, conference, text to speech to operate seamlessly across multiple Aculab Prosody and Prosody X cards, chassis and geographical sites. The software provides ease of scalability and rapid deployment, supporting ISDN, SS7, CAS, and VoIP protocols.

Includes an API to write applications using your preferred application language running on your preferred operating system, or use our Telco Perl application engine for maiximum flexibility. You can even run multiple application languages concurrently on the same Whirlwind deployment (eg .NET and Telco Perl).

Both Whirlwind and Telco Perl are written in C language for high performance and scalability.

Telco Perl Application Engine

Telco Perl enables users to write telephony scripts such as answer a call, check a PIN from a database, play a message, send a fax etc using open source Perl language. Telco Perl then compiles and caches these scripts to run in the telco-grade Whirlwind environment. Users can access thousands of freely available Perl modules plus our sample application scripts providing rapid speed to market with new business opportunities.

Open Environment

Whirlwind includes billing, system monitoring and external connectivity with legacy systems, communications devices and databases. Telco Perl enables the novice through to power programmers to write telephony applications quickly and easily. Business owners can draw from the pool of millions of Perl users across the world thereby avoiding the need to train their technicians in a proprietary environment, saving time and money.
